Thanks everyone I also stopped eating crisps which was my biggest nemesis and additional sugar I used to think a chocolate bar was ok, now 85% chocolate, spicy peperami, cheese and eggs are my best friends.

Were you trying to lose weight as well . I’m trying to lose weight and get blood sugar levels down . At first I thought it was one of my Type 2 friends but I don;t know any Ben's3 years ago I was diagnosed as type 2, put on Metformin and over the last couple of years the dose has been increased and last year was also given a glicazide.
On the 28th June 2017 I was having a consultation in hospital not related to the diabetes but got torn a new one by the consultant over it and that made me determined to do something about it.
Since then I have been following a low carb high'ish fat diet removing all potatos, rice, pasta from my diet and over the summer having lots of tasty salads and now making homemade soup, low carb deserts using almond flour, keto muffins etc...
I also having taken any medication since that date.
I try to run a couple of times a week averaging 6k per run and have lost around 10kg.
My Hba1c done last week came back as 5.9%
I intend to lose the same again which will bring me in to the healthy BMI range.

Im newly diagnosed T2 and nearly died at the hospital from Ketoacidosis 23 September 2017.
If we cannot have potatoes, rice, bread, pasta and can only have fresh vegetables - what am I going to eat to get my energy from?
I cannot have fats as I need to lose weight.
