Hi, I'm Rod and I am looking for info/advice from anyone who has used or is using Linagliptin and has suffered the side effect of muscle and joint pain from it's usage. ie. Did you stop using, find an alternative or just put up with it. Do the pros beat the cons etc. Would appreciate any constructive replies.

I am not on that particular gliptin, but with any meds that reduce blood glucose levels, and do have side effects if you are susceptible to them, is talk to your GP.
You are on these meds probably to get your levels to near normal levels, adjustments will happen and if you haven't read the information with the meds you should, because it details side effects and also has information about the likely event of having hypo symptoms. Your GP or dsn should be monitoring you, whilst on these meds. If you have any concerns, your surgery is the best place to go.
Any other questions about how you can help with getting your levels down with diet, just ask, what we do.
Read around the forum, there is some great knowledge on here.

Hi. The Gliptin family don't often give problems, but there are always exceptions. What does the leaflet say? I was on Sitagliptin for 2 years with no problems. In some situations the tablet Gliclazide can be used for T2s; I was on that as well before my GP realised I was actually a T1.
