I have type 1 diabetes and have had it for 44 years. I had lip fillers by my dentist as I believed he would be the best person to do it as they need to study facial anatomy. He was excellent, no noticeable bruising.
Unfortunately by the evening they swelled and swelled until I thought they were going to burst. I went back and got antibiotics which took the swelling down but I ended up with lumps in my lips. The lumps weren't noticeable to anyone else but I could feel them. My dentist offered to reverse the filler but I kept it until it decreased (approx. 3 months). I believe it was due to autoimmune disorder (which possibly caused my type 1 diabetes and underactive thyroid and necrobiosis).
If you have fillers get them done at the beginning of the week then you have chance for antibiotics or to have them dissolved. I would love to try again but am frightened now.
