I have been using Victoza every morning to control my type 2 diabetes for about ten years now since it was prescribed for me by a hospital consultant and it has been very effective. However, I have been unable to obtain supplies of Victoza for about three months now and it seems that Victoza may not now be available until 2025. My GP prescribed lixisenatide as a substitute and increased my daily Empagliflozin tablet from 10mg to 25mg but it is still nowhere near as effective as the Victoza was leading to raised blood glucose levels.
Does anyone know of and effective substitute for Victoza? Does anyone know if Rybelsus (a tablet version of semaglutide) would be available for my GP to prescribe?
