Hi guys t1 here. Bit of advice please...
I'm on humalog a ratio of 15g 2units
Lantus 24 units.
I've just changed job and am working the hours 5pm-9pm by the time I get home it's gone 10pm. I inject the huma and lantus but lessen the humalog by 2. Eg :
Instead of injecting for 90 I'm injecting for 75 is as was having hypo episodes is this safe or would anyone suggest anything else
Your suggestions would be appreciated

Welcome to the forum Paul.

Some overnight testing will determine if you've got your insulin dose correct, do the bg tests 2 hourly and see how you get on.

What time(s) do you inject the Lantus?

What time are the hypos happening and is this just since you started the late shifts?

I'm guessing you eat your evening meal after 10pm. Have other meal times changed?

Spiker my lantus is given at 10.15pm
My usual eating time was 7ish

My pattern has shifted as in I wake later I eat lunch later dinner later so the lantus is later.

If I reduce the humalog by two as I take at the same time with lantus it works a treat but I wouldn't know if it's correct and safe today's results were

5.9 09.24am breakfast
6.4. 11.45am after breakfast

5.2. 18.59pm midway through shift
4.1. 21.04pm end of shift

2.9. 11.00am breakfast

Is it possible I can do one ration for breakfast and lunch then another for dinner?
