Hi everyone,
I woke up with the highest fasting BG level since diagnosis this morning (7.3, I'm normally around 4.5), and I'm wondering if I've had my first liver dump in the night. My ususal BG after a snack before bed is around 4.5ish, last night I had a couple of slices of Sainsburys Free From brown bread before bed which usually lowers my BG for 2 hrs then raises it for the next 2-3 by about 0.5mmol, so I might wake up in the morning with a slightly higher than usual BG (no more than around 0.5mmols more than usual though).
I had quite a long walk yesterday, and even after tea my BG was only 3.9 (usually it's mid to high 4's at this time), so if the bread would have lowered my BG slightly and then wouldn't have started raising it until 3-4 hours after eating it, does this mean that my bg might have dropped enough for a liver dump and then been increased even more by the slow release carbs from the bread?
Should I be eating more carbs at tea/supper on the days I exercise a bit more than usual and should these be faster release carbs? :?
Juggling diabetes BG is such hard work
