Pretty much everyone has a liver dump to some degree regardless whether they have diabetes or not. It is useful to give us the energy to start the day: it is the way a healthy liver works.
The difference between someone with a fully working pancreas and most of this on this forum is the fully working pancreas can react to the liver dump and maintain steady BG whereas someone with diabetes will see their BG rise.
With diabetes, we are looking for ways for our body (with external assistance) to react to the liver dump with some insulin.
For someone with type 1 this may be to wake up and inject insulin at 4am.
As
@Alexandra100 says, people find different ways to manage it with type 2.
