Liver function test

I had my first liver function blood test & the doctor wasn't happy so a month later I had to have another. The results are the same (I didn't take in what it was) so now I've got to have a ultrasound! I'm a bit worried to be honest.

I've never been a big drinker so I know it's not due to that!

Does anyone know about this?
 
Hi @DizzyChick,

He may be concerned that you have a Fatty Liver as is often seen in diabetics.
This can be improved once you get your diabetes and weight , assuming you have any to lose,under control.

Fatty liver causes liver enlargement, tenderness and abnormal liver function. The most common cause is excessive intake of alcohol. Another cause is NASH (non-alcoholic steatohepatitis) which may progress to cirrhosis. It is seen most commonly in overweight and diabetic individuals.

One of the many problems I had before diagnosis was a fatty liver. Had three scans and told I would have major problems later in life, they kept saying it was the alcohol. At one time on meds for liver function problems.
It wasn't!

Since diagnosis and starting low carbing, my fatty liver problem has disappeared as has all my others health problems, including liver function.

But I'm weird!

Low carbing does this not meds!
