Liver problems

I have a Liver problem (PSC) and around January it flared up.

My liver fuctions were all over the place and my diabetic nurse decided to take me off Metformin and Glyclicide and put me on insulin.
I started Lantus 6 units until my sugar levels stated to rise.
My blood sugars levels (before breakfast) are now around 9.2 / 14.2.
I have been slowly increasing the dose and I am now on 26units

This is getting silly as i was fine (around 6) on my tablets.

I have not changed my diet (and don't intend to)

Anyone else had this problem.

Can't help, I'm afraid, Mem, but this is to say hello and to bump your post up again so that someone who knows more than I do might see it.

Just a thought but is this problem within the nurse's remit?

Hi all

One question...does anyone in levemir and novorapid, I have been on it for over 1 year and on 60units in the morning and 60units of levemir plus 9-12 units of novorapid after meals, as noticed that not just a sharp pain in the liver area but also is flaring up my neuropathy big time, to be honest my life at the moment is misery with so much pain, been through amytripine and i am now on ppregablein 2 x a day 300mg plus 400mg of tramadol but I am feeling sicker and sicker, actually just been in hospital a couple of weeks in hospital for liver biopsy because gama gt plus scan reveal signs of liver disease, and I have never been a drinker, nothing...ok I smoke, but nothing too much!!

My question is, is it possible the analogue insulin is make me more warm then good, even taking into consideration then actually help me control my sugar levels, but it made me increase weight exponentially and I changed my diet, I eat healthy, but cannot move much because o pain caused by neuropathy...a catch 22, but what I am thinking to do is to ask to change for animal insulin, because just recently I found out about the controversy with analogue insulin, in terms of the secondary effects, though no professional ever told about this for I could made a informed decision, any thought or advise please?
