have not been able to follow up as got busy with work. So looks like best course of action is to cook food as a non diabetic would do and then choose what to eat from that,
This way she wont miss out and I can have what i want.
The only downside is the slippery slope of seeing carbs and then caving in ( As happened to me recently on a trip to India)
But onward and upwards , so will be looking to do strict keto again.
Mrs A is non-diabetic but has happily almost completely gone over to my low-low carb diet. She adds some bread and a couple of treat elements that I avoid but we are 90% eating the same food. Mutual weightloss. It helps that I do all the cooking and enjoy doing it.
When I was first diagnosed with T2, my husband, who'd taken early retirement, had been doing the shopping (online) and cooking our main meal since then. At first he was supportive, and I was able to eat most shared meals just without the carby stuff. However it got to the point where we ended up with issues over some things I wanted to buy or eat, and I ended up opting to cater for myself, which has actually resulted in a far better and hassle free low carb diet for me.
