I record everything on a spreadsheet with my blood sugar numbers, weight, FBG and various other bits concerning my Type 2.
I did try with my fitness pal but didn't find it especially easy to use and anyway I would rather have all my data in one place. As I don't really count calories it seemed a bit OTT for me.
I use it as a means to get the total carbs for a meal and in doing so it is recorded, but its not recorded in order to monitor any weight gain or loss....
I didn't use any online app I made my own as some of the data in the online apps was questionable. For the first 3 months of starting Keto I logged every single meal including carbs fat and protein onto a spreadsheet that then calculated daily calories and all micro nutrients. this also gave me a weekly total including all blood sugars(6 readings per day) and ketone (by blood not urine) readings. all food types including bacon, eggs, vegetables were broken down by their nutrient composition also. I loved it, however I was getting a bit OCD with it so once my bloods came in at a normal level I stopped updating the spreadsheet. I love creating spreadsheets its the geek in me
I was just looking at it. When I showed it my workmates they thought I had gone crazy. especially when I said it took 30 mins to work out my macros for the day. I told them you need to do this to regain control. Only people on here get that!
@nadine68 I use my fitness pal website. I use it to log my food as it will calculate carbs, calories and fats. It can also be used to record exercise and weight loss. I think it's really useful.
