After reducing my hba1c from 62 to 39 shortly after diagnosis, i have fallen off the wagon a bit and thank god I started wearing the libre again and am sending off for test strips. Imagine my horror when the average bg showed up as over 11 mmol. So 3 days later its down to 9 and also fluctuating a lot less.
I know in a week or so it'll be back to 6 ish.
I thought I could get away with more than I can. So very keenly lchf at present.
Diabetes is so much a marathon not a sprint. I didn't beat myself up as much as usual - I thought, for the most part in my 2 years since diagnosis I have controlled it pretty well with diet and exercise.
One thing I have learnt is that I can't have diet drinks.

The fact that you have done it before, should give you every confidence that you can do it again.

A cautionary tale is every bit as important as any other testimonial, and highlights how important it is to remain vigilant.

Good luck, although I am sure you will succeed again.

You're back now which is the main thing and in control which is most important. Doubt you will have done too much damage so here's to even lower numbers in future. All the best.

It is altogether too easy to slip into the mentality that after a hard day/ while a way for a couple of days we deserve a treat. The 'treats' then mount up. It is never easy to cut back, easier to find a new, low carb treat and swap that in. Some people find that it is easiest to tread the same route back others that it is better to explore a slightly different route back. Good luck with whatever works for you.
