hi all
just a quick question
is it possible for injected insulin (lantus & novorapid) to have side effects such as weight loss over a period of say 4 years.

I don't believe that insulin will lead to weight loss directly. In fact some people feel more hungry and perhaps eat more when on insulin.

Why do you ask? Are you losing weight?

hi and welcome to the forum :)
given the nature of insulin and its necessity to live ( for type 1's ) the side effects would seem inconsequential.
there are many posts on the forum of people both losing and gaining weight so from an anecdotal viewpoint a 100% conclusion cannot be drawn.

Insulin itself doesn't directly lead to weight loss or gain. Incorrect use of insulin requiring additional feeding, not enough eating or too high blood glucose levels could contribute to weight gain or loss. As with everything T1 related, it's all about balance, and that relates to insulin and the amount of food you are eating.
