Type 1 Looking for advice

Hi just wondering what you would do quick background so went to clinic 5 weeks ago seen doc who lovely said thinks I need to go on pump no hypo awareness at all said get nurse to phone and arrange appointment ect one nurse phoned 3 weeks ago said she only just seen letter and needed to get other nurse to phone me back within 4 days so waited nothing so I rang back left a message nurse phoned me don't know if she seen my notes but made out I was lying about hypo and just reduce insulin so what should I do now just wait for next hospital appointment I have tried to get another one but no chance spoke to my gp and he said speak to diabetic team left messages but not returning calls so left hanging now I know they busy suppose best to just wait for next check up???
 
That's a tricky one....

I think for your own safety making a reduction to dose is the best option in the first instance....I assume this would be the obvious choice for you anyway...? What steps have been taken before now with regards your hypo awareness?

I think if the consultant doctor said you could benefit from one thats good, but you would really need to discuss it further with them and in more details, as opposed to a casual mentioning of it which then gets your hopes up.

I would get tooled up with as much info as you can for the next time you sit down with consultant, to make them aware what your thoughts are as clearly as possible.
 
Have you got email for the DSN and for the consultant/their secretary? I would send and email copying them all insetting out pretty much what you have done in your post - hopefully then the consultant will see it and explain the plan to the DSN so the plan can get actioned.
