Looking For Advice

Hi, I'm new to the forum today because I am looking for advice.

I am from the UK, 28 years old, and live with one very naughty cat.

I am trying to get to the bottom of a lot of problems I have been having recently, and I'm wondering if diabetes might be involved somewhere as I get sudden episodes of light-headedness, drowsiness and nausea an hour or so after eating sugary foods, which are eased by eating more sugary foods . . . can you see the cycle here?

I have Asperger's Syndrome and lack "common sense" and am not very good at cooking proper meals. I also suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and eat a lot of sugary foods to give me an energy boost at difficult times . . . yes, I know this is a REALLY poor way of dealing with it! I also have gut problems, which I think may be connected to gluten. I seem to have so many problems at the moment and I don't think they're all down to just one thing.

My GP is not at all helpful, but has in the past consented to testing for coeliac disease, so might consider testing for diabetes if it makes any sense that I might have this.

Sorry for such a long intro!

hya and welcome to the forum,
as for you having diabetes, we cannot tell u that, if u think u may have see your g.p, lloyds chemist also do a free diabetes check if theres one near you,
as for aspergers my son is mid diagnosis so i know a little, i myself suffer from cfs, have u had any help with it??
if i can help in any way plz let me know and let us know how u get on diabetes wise :D

Hi, and thank you for your reply.

I realise no one can diagnose me over the internet :) What I'm looking for is whether my symptoms MIGHT be due to diabetes and whether it is worth looking more into it and pursuing it with my GP.

I will look up Lloyds chemist. Would I need to be feeling light-headed at the time for anything to show up on a test? If so, are the any products I can buy to test myself at that time, as I obviously would not really want to go out until I felt well again.

I've not had any help with the CFS. I am waiting for a referral at the moment but it is taking a very long time. I don't know if there is anything that can be done anyway really.

hya,
no u dont need to be feeling odd, try fasting overnight and go in 1st thing, that is what i did, you could also get a free testing kit and do some checks b4 meals and 2hrs after,
as for the cfs i was seen by a local cfs team, its basically all about pacing yourself ,it really does work :D as said before if i can help plz pm me :D
