Was diagnosed as type 2 in 2019. Well controlled with low carb. Two years ago was told l have Old Dominion/ Burton upon Trent sub type. Can’t get much info on it,anyone help? 3 brothers have same.

I think this isn't actually a variety of Type 2 diabetes, but relates to a rare haemoglobin type. It seems to be commoner in people with Scots-Irish ancestry. Where it relates to Type 2 diabetes is that it can affect HbA1c results - so that Hba1c values are "spuriously" inflated. There are a number of factors and conditions that can mean the HbA1c test is not reliable for T2 diagnosis, and this is one of them.
