Fish , bad manners,
I am only just starting to learn about looping , I have to change from animas vibe , choice is Ypsomed , Medtronic 640 and combo or insight pumps . I use Libre and considering MM ( waiting to see when MM2 is released) which pump is the best to go forward with looping . I can’t afford long term use of sensors for Medtronic.

Are you Apple based or Android? I’m Looping with iPhone, Omnipod, Libre+MiaoMiao and a RileyLink.

I currently use iPhone 7 but thinking of changing back to android . On iPod not available at the pump clinic I attend although if I move to pump clinic near me omipod is available . But have read older Medtronic are better at looping .

There have been a few threads on this topic recently.
I recommend using the Search on the top right of the page to review these threads as a few people have some experience and advice in those thread already.
What subject do you recommend on search bar?

Hi, @alohanicky2009 , there's a couple of guys who are at the forefront of looping in the UK, a browse at their stuff will give good insight into it:

One is Tim Street, who posts on this site as @tim2000s , who blogs here:

https://www.diabettech.com/

Scroll down that page and there's links to various articles on looping.

The other is Alasdair McLay, not sure if he's got a blog, but there's links on his twitter feed to educational materials which the looping community have written for hcps (yes, that's right, the patients are teaching the doctors...):

And, of course, there's Dana Lewis who basically invented this stuff in the first place:

A good place to start for Loop on an Apple system is here: https://loopkit.github.io/loopdocs/ and here: https://kdisimone.github.io/looptips/ Also check out the Looped and Looped UK groups on Facebook.

It’s a DIY system with no official support from the pump manufacturers or establishment. So you need to thoroughly read the comprehensive information available via those links you’ve been given on this thread before starting. Older Medtronic pumps will work with it, but of course being older, they’re possibly approaching the end of their reliable lives and are getting harder to find. The equipment section on the LoopDocs page tells you what pumps it’ll work with. Once you’ve gathered all your hardware, you need to select the right version of the Loop app to build and install on your phone. I spent several weeks reading up on it all before even attempting to Loop. But I’m happy with the results - this was last night:
