You need to cut back to around 30 - 50 grams of carb per day. You won't feel hungry on this as long as you keep your fat intake up. Basically Atkins is best. Get one of the basic Atkins books if you need a book. You can lose a significant amount of weight quite fast and despite what some people will try to tell you, it's perfectly safe and there's no benefit in losing weight slowly.
It's definitely worth a try.

Ps more exercise makes little or no difference to weight and calories are irrelevant. It's which foods you eat that matter.
