Hi all

I have been T1 now for about 6 weeks. Happy to say I've managed to get my BGLs down to a weekly average of just under 7 and am only suffering the occasional hypo, usually when I've exercised a little more than I was expecting (lawn mowing, walking dogs etc).

Whilst I know the dangers of alcohol with T1, I enjoy the odd glass of wine of an evening and seem to be fine with one or two - no negative reactions including reasonable BGLs so long as I make sure I have enough carbs onboard.

The reason for this post is that if I exceed two glasses (even by just one) I tend to wake up with loss of feeling in my hands/arms and then a little pins and needles.

I was wondering if anyone else has similar and/or if you think this is coincidental and I could just be lying strangely in the night. I had this this morning after sleeping in my son's bunk bed from 0100 (he took my place in bed!!).

Do you test your bg when you wake with the pins & needles? It may well just your sleeping arrangements.

Bg looks fine, maybe just the way your lying in bed, does seem rather strange why one more glass of wine would make a difference but it goes without saying, if your concerned have a chat with your Dr or DSN.
