idk what to do anymore
my numbers are out of control
despite insulin and ozempic
and a low carb diet and
some fasting and several large
increases of lantus the drs says to do
now on 140 units lantus

i dont exercise as i have alot of leg pain
and feet swelling
and have no funds to join a y to swim

what do i have to do?
can it be controlled?

most of the rapid insulin i use is just to try to
bring the highest numbers down
not even for meals
as i know i dont need any for most of my meals
or i use some if i eat with my family

my numbers range from 11 to 18
at any time unless i take huge doses
of rapid to bring it down (20 to 30 units)

i have no dr and there isnt a specialist here
so its just walkin drs who cant do follow up

what do i have to do?
can it be controlled?

CDPM, I'm a bit confused. In your post, quoted about, you state the following
".... drs says to do now on 140 units lantus...." The later you say your have no doctor or consultant, so who is telling your to increase your Lantus?

If appreciate the medical situation in some parts of Canada can be tricky, but honestly, you need support with this, so I would urge you to just keep going back to wherever the doctor is who is advising you. If he/she can, she could perhaps refer you to more specialised care?

Who provides you with prescriptions for your medication? Is this from a walk-in or another arrangement?

i have to have a walk in dr call me
a drug store sets it up
and i get a different dr everytime
unless the same one happens to be working
the day i call the drug store to have them call me
im not sure if they can set up to have the same dr call me
ive asked twice for the same one to call me
but so far its not happened
so maybe they cant just do that

since i posted this
one of the walkin drs has said i need follow up
but so far i have had no one from anywhere call me
about this

i havent thought of that
thanks for the link
Since you are in Canada I would suggest this website. They have resources and perhaps they can help you.

Also in my experience walk in clinics do not do follow up. You have to find a family doctor in your area and book an appointment. Discuss your needs with them and they will refer you to a clinic or specialists. Even if there are non close by they will make suggestions if you press for it. Also be ready for a phone consultation right now because most doctors are discouraging face to face contact.
