no matter what -- it is important not to beat yourself up -- we all try to put other things than D first at different times in our lives......... the important thing is you can recognise it is happening and want to do something to change the balance.
I would start with basal testing as
@mahola suggested.
next -- try and do your best to keep a routine ( hard I know while at uni )
also -- keep records of BG's , food , insulin doses
( this will help you and your care team to see if there are any patterns happening ......)
finally -- be kind to yourself -- the changes you need and want to make won't happen overnight
