Hi - not sure of your son's age my son is 15 and has had T1 since the age 5 its incredibly worrying and frustrating when bouts of low readings happen and it is difficult to know exactly why.

As I understand strenuous exercise can have a knock on effect for up to 20 hours afterwards so something he did yesterday could be also have an effect. Growth spurts and hormones can also have an effect. I have found sometimes a bowl of cereal before bed when readings are low such a couple of weetabix with a little sugar helps stabalise things.

Good luck
Nicola

Thanks for the advice Nicola, he is 11 and did a lot of exercise yesterday so it could be that along with swimming today, he was 6.5 before supper tonight so we will see what tomorrow brings.

Thanks
