Hi been on meds now for 10 days since I was diagnosed at the moment I am on Metformin 500mg one in morning one in evening and also half a tablet of Gliclazide 80mg morning and evening

working away from home and eating out so not quite sure of what I am going to get in the way of hidden carbs and sugars in dressings etc.

now were my low readings before bed because of the beer or was my high reading because of the salad dressing and chips? previous 3 bed time readings were all in the 6.3-6.5 range

Monday my reading before bed was 4.1 meal I had was fish with crushed potato's 2 pints of Stella 30min walk before bed
next day before bed 7.7 meal I had was roast beef salad and chips (British style) no alcohol 30min walk before bed
and yesterday before bed 3.6 I had steak with the usual trimmings took the batter off the onion rings and only 5-6 of the chips and 2 pints of Stella 30min walk before bed
my pre meal fasting's were all in the 6.3-6.8 range

today trying to eat the same as yesterday and swap the beer for diet coke to compare

Whatever you do try to take your readings two hours after you last ate or drank. This might not solve your problems but your readings would be comparable to those of others.
