Low BG warning

Prior to yesterday I thought hypos affected solely those on medication. After an egg, bacon and slice of Burgen breakfast I had a pretty active morning - long dog walk, 1 hour in workshop then handwashed my work van. As mother inlaw was coming for lunch we had a small prefood gin and tonic, after about 20 mins I was feeling quite shaky so I decided to test......2.3 was the reading which was quite a shock, a quick fruit smoothie sorted things out and I was ok again in a very short while. A lesson for me and others..... if your liver is busy trying to keep BG up because you are hungry don't give it something else to do ie: process alcohol however small amount it may be. I will have to be really careful about this in future!

Wow Dib. Actually, before I was diagnosed with T2 I remember having a 'low blood sugar' after going to the gym and felt pretty rough. It was probably because I hadn't eaten before I exercised....carbs are generally needed if you lead a quite active lifestyle. Non diabetics can have 'hypos' but not as we know them.........
