I wonder if anyone has experienced a low figure (3.75) after a meal with alcohol?
My fasting figure I'd usually about 6 and I take 500mg of metformin per day.
Is the 3.75 figure dangerous?

If only on Metformin the 3.7 is perfectly fine. Alcohol prevents the liver from dumping glucose in your bloodstream so it's normal to get lower numbers for some hours after drinking.

Hi,
I had 3.8 yesterday evening after 2 small bottles (0.33l) of Peroni.
I’m also keeping a low calorie / low carb diet and take 2 metformin 500mg a day.
My fasting BG level is usually around 5.5 - 5.7 since I started this diet and 30 mins exercise every day (also dropped 1.5 stones since mid Aug).
Yet seeing 3.8 was weird, and shortly after that I was shaking so I had some food quickly.

Wikipedia says:
“The glucose level that defines hypoglycemia is variable. In diabetics a level below 3.9 mmol/L (70 mg/dL) is diagnostic.“
However I’m not sure what this means?
