How do people feel, symptom wise with low blood sugars and also what do u do about it? How low do u drop before u worry?

Anything under 4 would concern me a bit, but some other members can tolerate this but it makes me "jumpy" ....

I get light headed and shakes around 4. Then I take a glucose tablet or 2. I find they work.

Well, T2s, unless on insulin, gliclazide, or similar are unlikely to suffer a medically dangerous hypo. If your profile mess are correct, I don't think what you're taking fits the category.

My sugars run quite low, since I got things under control, and I regularly see 3s, down to the low3s, without feeling any more uncomfortable than pretty hungry. I'm sure I usually feel hungry, under about 3.3, because I'm ready to eat. At 2.6 I was grumpy, but I'm sure at least part if that was seeing a number starting with a 2!!

If I am low and hungry, and food is imminent, I just eat in my usual way. If food isn't on the immediate horizon, I just have a cup of tea with some milk, which just brings me up a bit, so that I'm comfortable until I eat.

Not everyone feels so relaxed with low numbers, but that's just me.

If you are low, and feel "off", you should do something about it, but I would urge you not to have jelly babies, glucose or Lucozade if you can avoid it. That is likely to shoot your blood score up very quickly (which some find unpleasant in itself), then there is often a rebound drop back down, because of the fast acting nature of those hypo remedies.

Do you go low, or are you numbers lowering and you're trying to be prepared, just in case?

I'm on 160mg gliclazide and 2000mg metformin now. Usually my lvls are around 8-13. But I get the odd day of randomly low lvls

you know 8-13 is too high? that in its self would cause hypo feelings when you get anywhere near 4
there was a discussion among the T1's a true hypo is around 2.5 and a normal BG starts about 3.5, but treat at 4 should be ok with Glic

Yes I know it's to high, my hba1c is 66 at the moment. I cut out all potato, pasta, rice and bread. I eat mainly veg and meats. No root veg tho. Only grated carrot in salads. I make home made soups. I've done food diary and worked with diabetic nurse. Sometimes don't matter what u do

you may need to get a GAD and C-peptide blood test to make sure you aren't late onset T1? because with those meds on Low carb, you may not be putting out enough insulin.

I would use a food counter like my fitness pal and double check your carb intake, just to be sure, but I doubt that you will find much hidden carb by what you have said

Yes, the nurse has mentioned injections. Tbh I'll do anything to make me feel normal again lol. My doctor refused to test me in beginning he said I was to young. So I swapped doctor surgery and got tested. I knew I was as it runs in my family. But I'm the only 1 in the family who struggles with it lol.

what was the c-pep/gad result? T1 or T2?
what could be happening is that your pancreas gives an extra squirt now and then that throws your BG around.
I think insulin resistant T2's are normally fairly stable that way
