I think we need to make a differentiation here. This study relates to lo-cal as LOW OVERAL VOLUME OF FOOD, not consumpion of low calorie food.
One of my grandparents is 85 years old, with diabetes, and has smoked since she was 8. She hardly eats a morsel through the day, and is carrying absolutely no extra weight.
She is invincible. I hope to God that I've inherited some of that invincibility!!!
