Low carb and hypos

I've rejoined Weight Watchers after my holiday, and yet again I'm having hypos on the tracking plan. It's quite low carb and yesterday at work I had a hypo and again today. I tested my blood and yesterday it had gone down to 4.6 (about 4 hours after breakfast), and today it was 4.8. I am taking one Dapagliflozin 10mg and one Glimepiride 2mg a day. If I do the Weight Watchers No Count plan (where I can eat crumpets, low cal bread, WW wraps, porridge, without counting them) I'm fine. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I need to lose weight and the tracking plan works best for me. Should I go and have a word with my go? Any advice please.

You aren't doing anything wrong. 4.6 is not a hypo. It is normal. Under 4 is classed as a hypo.

It is your medication that is causing you to go a bit low. The Glimepirade works by stimulating your pancreas to produce extra insulin. When you lower your carbs you need less insulin. If you have too much insulin, your levels will drop. The less carbs you eat the less insulin you need. If you decide to stay on "quite low carb" you need to speak with your doctor/nurse about reducing your dose. If you go back to eating carbs all you are doing is eating to your medication levels.

I agree, those are not hypos and adjusting your medications ( with your GPs permission) would be better than feeding your medication with food.

I forgot to say, I'm type 2, and was diagnosed just over a year ago. Not on insulin just on the meds above. My Hba1c at the beginning of the year was 72. But my last one, in April, was 45 (after joining WW).Even the gp said he had never seen such a good improvement.
Obviously they are false hypos, but they are awful. Shaking, sweating, confused etc, it's not nice.
I work on a reception and sometimes it's difficult to eat at regular times (plus they don't like you eating on reception). I was going to have a Alpen Light cereal bar yesterday morning, but lost all track of time. If I'd had that I'd probably have been ok.
I'll have to eat little and often from now on, I think.
