Low-carb and kidney stones?

I've felt a might have kidney stones for a long time, as I have to go the toilet repeatedly to urinate tiny amounts. The doctor's useless response is "drink less" (I can't get through to the doctor - this occurs when I haven't drank anything at all all day). After 3 3 straight weeks on zero carbs, I felt yesterday and today a sharp pain in my belly (if that's a polite word"), like someone was stabbing me with a knife, and it lasted 5 minutes each time until the pain abated. Immediately afterwards, I felt the need to go to the toilet. I'm going to try telling the doctor again I might have kidney stones. But will this frustrate my attempt to go low-carb? I know someone on this forum has said the key is to limit protein and have a fat-based diet.

Maybe read about kidney function and stones here

You will have to scroll down a bit to get to the part about kidney stones, but hopefully you may find it helpfull. You should talk to your doc and no I don't think it will interfere with low carb dieting.
