Help! Started low carbing at the end of August
Within a week blood sugars low all day every day so began to adjust via pump
Also noticed really bad bloating gas and heartburn
Have suffered this previously and was diagnosed with IBS
After a lot of research gave apple cider vinegar a go for a couple of weeks
Gave some relief so then started with HCL supplements (yesterday)
My concern is that my blood sugars over the last week have started to creep up
Could it be the undigested food that's now being digested?
Bloating gas and heartburn are disappearing
I am type 1 and have been for 35 years

I don't wish to alarm you, but is it possible you have a degree of gastroparesis happening? Might be worthwhile reading the recent threads about this and slow colonic transit to see if you recognise some of your own symptoms there:

Unfortunately many Type 1s seem to suffer with the condition to some degree or other :(

I was thinking the exact same thing myself.

Thank you both but all back to normal! Noticed my sugars crept up when I changed my insulin cartridge. They were around 11.5 all day for a couple of days. Changed my cartridge and slowly everything returned to normal.
I have read a lot about gastroparesis and I wasn't experiencing nausea vomiting or any weight loss.
I think because I restricted my carbs my stomach protested! However I do think I have some low stomach acid issues which seem to be responding well to supplements.
Thank you again for the links

Glad things are better now. Phew! :)
