Hi all
I am very keen to embark on LCHF lifestyle, and have been slowly cutting down on carbs. My problem is I have severe gastroparesis and eat a low residue, low fibre diet.
I would say my carb intake mainly involves white bread which I can tolerate stomach wise, and involves an egg salad sandwich, or slice of cold meat and salad or cheese and salad etc at lunch time.
I am a creature of habit and once I find something I can tolerate, I tend to eat the same thing for weeks. Food is not terribly important to me
I am currently in the US visiting friends (I am from Australia) and while in the supermarket found some "Low Carb Bread" it has 6g carbs per slice, is white and toasts really well, as well as making sandwiches I can enjoy.
Is this good? and relatively low carb?
Obviously once back in Australia I won't have that particular brand, but Helgas have a a low GI, low carb type which I have not located yet in local supermarkets. I have no weight to lose, swing between underweight-normal weight BMI, eat very little meat, a lot of salad, love eggs, allergic to fish, and often feel like I am just feeding the insulin some days.
