Yes, I noticed that. Personally I have been on the Mediterranean diet for years, I called it normal eating! Like a lot of Mediterranean people though, I still put weight on and still developed Diabetes T2. Now I have to avoid fruit and starchy carbohydrate to stabilise my blood glucose.

I wonder though whether the Mediterranean diet helped me to avoid diabetes for many years. Other members of my family developed it twenty years before I did. I suspect if I had followed it in my youth, instead of eating an awful lot of rubbish, I would never have developed insulin resistance.
