So I have been on low carb diet one week, started at 16st 4 lbs now 15st 13 lbs and I have been swimming twice a week. I can't claim that I miss bread or potatoes because it hasn't crossed my mind. I had two small potatoes with my roast dinner. I am not testing yet as I was told by the nurse to manage it by food and exercise for three months. So all in all its going well.

Terrific mate :) remember the swimming will be building muscle too so the weight loss could well be even better than it looks on the scales

keep it up!

Swimming is very very good and works nearly all your muscles without much impact.

What you are doing is pretty much the same as I did but I did test and I discovered a lot about food and, more importantly, what foods to avoid. Weight loss and exercise will improve your BGs but watching what you eat will help even more. Cutting out bread and potatoes will save a lot of carbs though so you have already started down that route. Keep it up and good luck.
