Newly diagnosed since July with a a1c of 11 but was in denial for years until my eyes got blurry and symptoms were showing. Got myself a cgm and went on a Low carb diet. At the moment my libre is telling me I have a GMI of 6.6 and I rarely move above 9 or 10 throughout the day. Well sometimes when I make the dumb mistake of eating something without checking the ingredients. Also on 500x3 metformin. I noticed if i eat my eggs and bacon or keto meal, my blood sugar falls to the 5+ range within the hour or two and I get this headache. Is this normal? Am I doing all my sugar control measures too drastically that’s why the headaches?

Are you getting enough salt?

If you have stopped eating processed foods then you might be a bit deficient?

Also if you had an HbA1c of 11% then your description as "prediabetes" is optimistic!

i don’t know. I’ll try to eat more salt. Yikes about prediabetes description, I keyed it in 5 years ago and forgot to change It. I’ve since graduated to the T2 club.

I find I need to drink more since going to low carb.

I stick a pinch in most of my drinks, coffee and tea as well as adding it to meals.

You might be a bit dehydrated too?

Headaches can come about for all sorts of reasons.

If you are jumping between low carb meals and high carb then your body might struggle to adjust I found I had false hypos, fatigue and a couple of extra headaches when I first went low carb.

I’ve avoided high carb since but I think you are right. Probably my body is adjusting since I been abusing it for years. Will also try to add a bit of salt and drink more water to see if things improve.
