Hello. I'm new to this forum so please bear with me. I've been managing type 2 for 23 years gradually going from diet only to an increasing pill regime, metformin, gliclazide and saxagliptin. My last HBA1C was 8.2 in August and I've been trying to get it down before the 6 month check (last Tuesday but no result yet) I've been reading loads and have decided to try the low carb diet. I am overweight but have been all my life and my weight has been stable for 20 years. I also exercise regularly going Nordic walking, using an exercise cycle daily and doing gentle circuit training. So my question. Has anyone else not lost weight on the low carb diet? I admit that it's only the first week but everything I've read suggests that the weight comes off quickly and I haven't lost a pound. My sugar levels are also very up and down, brilliant on the first day but not staying down. I'm feeling a bit despondent about it all.
