Sounds deliciousHi @Spirit01
it is a great question and for those of us that do look at carb alternative snacks one of my favourites is
to take a slice of wafer thin ham , spread a bit of cream cheese on the ham ( philadelphia )
and wrap it around a spring onion
gorgeous taste -- very low carb
I don't lose weight easily, but there was a 4 month period about 18 months ago when I DID lose, slowly and consistently.
As far as I remember (I am getting old ya know), my diet of the time included a protein brekkie, 4 squares 70% at 11am, a bag of pork scratchings EVERY workday lunch, some cold meat and salad with the scratchings, and a low carb dinner. Quite a lot of calories, fat, salt and protein, but the weight just kept slipping infinitesimally away.
Since then, I have tried various other options, lower protein, less animal protein... but the weightloss stalled and has never restarted. Just the odd half pound every now and then.
Sorry about that ramble.
I just wanted to pay tribute to chocolate and pork scratchings. lol.
What do you think caused the stall? Are you now at your target weight?

Is your thyroid function ok? I struggle with loosing weight and I believe its because of thyroid. Despite being on thyroxine still get many symptomsI wish i knew. And am a loooong way from ideal weight.
I am currently eating less than back then, less fat, less protein, and approx the same activity levels.
It could have been work stress (cortisol blocks weight loss) but when the stress went, the weight stayed stalled...
My current theory is insulin resistance (plus my usual hormone mayhem)
Insulin resistance is lowered by:
Going keto - check
Exercise - problematic due to back and knee, though i walk the dogs daily
Fasting - been doing IF 16/8 with coffeencream as brekkie to no avail
Drugs - my HbA1c is too low to get a prescription for metformin which would lower IR
Obviously missing something.
Sigh.
But then my endocrinologist is always impressed when i haven't gained since my last appt.
So maybe my 'holding pattern' is actually a triumphal achievement. Who knows?
One certainty; if i raise my carbs, i gain.
And if i lower calories a smidge more i hit Hungry Rage and risk a killing spree (and no, I ain't joking).
I guess we just play with the hand we are dealt.

I'm just obsessed with thyroid problems! Gives me more problems than diabetes at the momentThyroid test is fine.
Hair and nails, fine.
Don't feel the cold.
- so thyroid seems Ok.
I wondered about vit D3 deficiency (i have been deficient for years) but i have been supplementing for nearly a year now.
No weight loss.
Thanks for asking though.
Perhaps i should explain the hormone chaos though - PCOS and reactive hypoglycaemia means insulin resistance, plus more insulin resistance caused by obesity. Plus a benign pituitary gland tumour, which causes excess prolactin => Hunger. Then the meds for that cause more insulin resistance.
Sorry, have derailed thread. Just thought i had better explain why the ol' Eat Less Move More idea is a bit inadequate. Lol.
I'm just obsessed with thyroid problems! Gives me more problems than diabetes at the momentHope you will find a solution soon. It is very frustrating when you try to loose weight and nothing works
Thank you. I will have a lookYes indeed.
Have you seen any of Eric Berg's articles and you tube and books on hormone issues. Very enlightening. He talks about thyroid, ovaries and adrenals, with their effect on the liver. Well worth a read, if your root issue is hormones.
