Low Carb - When do you stop loosing weight ?

Hey Folks. I've been low carbing and exercising for a couple of weeks now and have already lost about 3kg. I've been steadily loosing weight for the past 6 months (5kg thru' lifestyle change before type2 diagnosis). My target of 83kg will get me to "normal" weight and I only have 5 kg to go. I'd like to stick to the weight if I can but I fear the weight may continue to come down. Has anyone else been through this scenario already ? How did you control it ?
 
my weight loss stopped when my body was happy, that seemed to be what happened anyway, in my mind id like to lose another stone really but my bmi is perfect and everyone says I'm about right so I'm not trying, i think my body just kind of caught up with my diet

Andy, so are you at the lower, middle or high end of your optimum BMI range. I'd like to stop at the high end. Understand that I may have to go lower but if my BS levels are reasonable at 83 kg, thats where I'd like to stop.

I've been low carbing for YEARS! however, my weight refuses to go down any more and everything I read says I should be about 15 kilos lighter than I am. Even that would be more than i was at 20.

Andy ... Right...I want to to stop bang on 24.9. Is that controllable on low carb diet.
 
i don't know mate, i am sure it is, maybe not that exact number but close to it, just eat more food when you hit it, would be my guess
 
low carb or not low carb, we must have a point where our bodies will maintain the weight we are at if we do a certain amount of exercise whilst eating a certain amount of food, if we eat more than perfect maintenance amount then we go up, if less we go down, so the trick is finding it i would say, but this is all just my guess, the metabolism is a weird animal which is why two people can eat the same amount of food and do the exact same amount of exercise yet one is thin one is fat
 
I had a real problem stopping losing weight with low carb. I am a bit wary of high fat as my ldl cholesterol and triglycerides went up when I low carbed. So I eat loads of nuts and things with healthy fats to maintain my weight. I have to say I do have to eat a lot to maintain my weight, if I just eat when I am hungry I do lose weight.
