Low carb Works

recognition;)

Shame it was the mirror. I'm very pleased to see that this chap has achieved something wonderful and I don't want to take any wind out of his sails.

When I lowered my carbs, just by removing bread, potatoes, rice and pasta my carb intake dropped to about 40gms per day. Just as important and frequently overlooked although glaringly obvious, if your carb intake is meant to represent 1/3 of your calories, then it's obvious that your calories will drop by a 1/3 as well. My calorie intake dropped by more, I had been on about 1800 cals a day and by removing 2 bits of toast/2 bread rolls (very high cals) and one baked spud I removed 700 calories.

I know some always refer to LCHF, hopefully they don't replace 700 calories with something containing fat.

I also lost weight and then it stopped, another story.

Is his diabetes reversed? Only if he can eat 250 gms of carb a day and the extra 700 or so calories without affecting his weight or BG.

Oh ye of little faith lets have some positivity any LC news is good news for the forum and for newly diagnosed diabetics;)

The secret is out...
I couldn’t believe I’d lost almost half a stone and hadn’t once felt hungry. I’d been filling up on steak, bacon and lots of veg and wasn’t missing high-carb foods like pasta and bread. It wasn’t long before my XXXL T-shirts and 44in waist trousers didn’t fit. I was having to buy new trousers every month.

Unfortunately, it gets interpreted as
■ Do two hours 30 minutes of moderate intensity exercise each week or one hour 15 minutes of high intensity exercise.
■ Lose weight gradually to achieve a healthy body mass index.
■ Replace refined carbs with wholegrain foods and increase intake of vegetables and other foods high in dietary fibre.
■ Reduce the amount of saturated fat and salt in your diet.
Some are just dense and unable to connect the dots...
