Low carb

OK (I'm cheating a bit, but I have done it in threes):

Things to eat:
  • low carb veggies & berries
  • dairy products - Greek yoghurt, butter, cream
  • meat, fish, chicken, bacon, eggs
Things to drink:
  • coffee, cocoa powder
  • herb teas
  • Alpro hazelnut or almond milk
Useful stuff I wouldn't be without:
  • herbs and spices (for zinging things up)
  • milled flaxseed, coconut flour & ground almonds (for baking)
  • Lindt 85% dark chocolate (for treats!)
No jelly though as I think Andy must have bought it all up...

He didn't actually, I did. My shop didn't have any peanut M&M's left so I had to get sugar-free jelly instead.

Oatmeal cakes, smoked salmon, butter are my 3 Must Have. Hope everything went as smoothly as poss lunarlinda and that you are recuperating well.

Oh thank you very much lindipops. I had the angiogram and didn't need stents, I have a tough tip of my heart called this fantastic name so there will be follow up but I don't know if I'll bother. It's beating ok at the mo so quite frankly, I have other things to worry about, like finding somewhere to live.

You're new on here. Are you getting to grips with any particular type of diet?

Tinned Tuna with full fat Philadelphia to add to salad
Cooked night before Chicken thighs/drumsticks to add to salad
Peanut butter (PICS brand as it's the purest) on celery sticks
Butter, full fat milk, eggs, cheese
Cabbage, chicken, frozen peas (watch portion size), green beans, brocolli
Baby spinach (for salads), tomatoes, pine nuts, pumpkin seeds,
Spices and seasoning to add to meat and fish
Fresh fish (salmon mainly)
Full porridge oats (not quick oats)
Frozen blueberries, raspberries, strawberries & creme crèche
Almonds & walnuts (I find Brazil nuts too earthy tasting!), salted peanuts (in moderation)
Natural salt (Himalayan the best has lots of minerals in it). If your kidneys are ok then any excess salt is filtered out by the kidneys. Salt has been given a bad rap over the years which is unjustified.
Lindt 85% dark chocolate
Natural full fat Greek yoghurt (add own thawed berries)

I used to be a person who had to have a different meal every day. I've changed. Since eating what my grandparents used to eat all those years ago I don't get hungry very often and I don't get bored of the same foods. WIERD but wonderful!
