I have type 2 diabetes and my doctor recommended a low carb diet. Now I have just been diagnosed with angina and my consultant suggests a low fat diet. whats left for me to eat !!
as a diabetic, it's the carbs that matter, not the fat... the theory that eating fat leads to heart disease is seriously flawed yet will not go away as too many people fail to keep up with current research...
Hi. Your doctor is right ref the diabetes; good for him as he is a a rarity. Ref the angina, a lot will depend on why you have it. You can always try to have unsatured fat such as fish and take statins. The effect of fat causing blocked arteries is based on some suspect research and high carbs are partly to blame for arterial damage so I'd go for statins.
