Hi
Thanks for your responses.
I think the Carbs & Cals book is probably the one that the DN was thinking of. It has the different portions/plate sizes that she mentioned. I'll probably buy that one to start off with.
I have managed to find my Collins Calorie Counter but it is a bit out of date and it might be worth getting an up-to-date one as many of the foods seem to have changed. Some of the foods I've just looked up are not there.
The Australian sight, re Uni of Sydney, is too much for me to take in at the moment and was just confusing me and frustrating me more but I'll take another look when I'm in a better frame of mind. Thanks for the link, though.
Thanks for the tip re Rosemary Connolly books. I'll give them a look too. Ha Ha, I'd be pleased to get back to a size 12, let alone a size 6 which I think would be a bit too much for my build
Unfortunately, I don't like salads and actually don't have the motivation to prepare/cook, being on my own (which, in itself is a major issue re what I eat and probably most of the core problem)
I was also emphatically refused to be prescribed a blood glucose testing machine and sticks but, at least, she had the decency to admit it was down to cost. Seeing as the GP had said I would now be needing an additional tablet and to test before I drove, which would have cost anyway, it seems purely pedantic and sticking to 'rules' that one can't have a machine. However, I do have such a machine and so will start using it again, trying to get back on the straight and narrow.
Again, thanks for your suggestions
