Low GL Diet

mmmm I see what you mean about the level peaking after my Byriani. There was a 4 hour gap I just thought that 6.7 was very good 4 hrs after a meal. OK I will keep a closer watch on my Bg but I will have to start buying my own strips because the nurse only lets me have 50 at a time. She told me not to go mad and she will supply them. Turns out going mad is testing 2 times a week instead of once a week. Once a week is what she wants me to test now. How useless is that?

The average for the week is 7.9 Is that good?

Hi heavensoul,
You are doing really well. It is a shame that you are going to have to buy the test strips. Keep a food diary so that you don't waste them doing tests on foods that you have already tested. If you can afford it , it may be a good idea to do a whole day's testing and see what you deduce from that. Don't forget another major player is exercise .

Good luck and you are well and truly on the right road. :D Remember it doesn't happen overnight and there will be ups and downs along the way. It is not a competition and only you can manage your diabetes.
