Trouble is since December diagnosis have cleared out pretty much anything heavy in carbs from cupboards.
No way was I expecting to get a reading that low so hoping it's a one off else will have to speak to the nurse.
Was diagnosed T2 so would readings this low suggest something else?
I did have a few gin and tonics last night of that has any effect?
Any reading of 4 or less is a diabetic hypo. These low readings which might happen often, this can lead to heart attach or stroke. When I have readings below 4 I adjust my insolin dose. I also have 300m bottles of regular coke inthe fridge. I find this brings my level up fairly quickly. My doctor is aware of thisBeen getting readings last couple weeks between 4.9 and 5.8 which is great.
Tested this lunchtime and 3.8 and 3.7.
Those low readings concerned me so done more just now and 3.4 and 3.3.
Should I be concerned?
Just crammed some dairy milk down my throat in case!!!
I'm not on insulin and managing T2 with diet only so have been reassured by previous posters for me to have occasional low readings is not an issue.Any reading of 4 or less is a diabetic hypo. I just read your post now. I have times like that, too. I'm low carb and it still goes either way. Today before lunch my BG was 9.9. I dosed 1.5u and ate my low-carb lunch. I took my dog for a walk for about 65 min. and tested when the timer went off. 14.1! So, frustrating. Trust me, I carry Dairy Milk with me everyday and everywhere I go. Hope you get this figured out. Take care.Been getting readings last couple weeks between 4.9 and 5.8 which is great.

I was dx'd Type 2 in March 2017 (age 69). Went low carb and no meds until May 2019. I ended up in the ER in a very serious DKA episode where blood tests showed I was actually T1. I'm still low carb, but it's been a roller coaster ride ever since trying to get it right. I'm now 75. I'm thinking I probably will never get it right. Diabetes is sooooo unpredictable.Trouble is since December diagnosis have cleared out pretty much anything heavy in carbs from cupboards.
