Any reading of 4 or less is a diabetic hypo. These low readings which might happen often, this can lead to heart attach or stroke. When I have readings below 4 I adjust my insolin dose. I also have 300m bottles of regular coke inthe fridge. I find this brings my level up fairly quickly. My doctor is aware of this
In all my experience on this forum and obviously reading about my condition and searching for knowledge.
I have never heard of a diabetic hypo.
A hypo is a hypo!
It is low blood glucose levels. Which for many is below 3.5 (ish) depending on the individual and the condition.
T1s reference is below 4mmols, this is to suit the condition to be above normal levels. Though again, the individual can be happy in normal levels.
T2s can be happy below 4mmols, with no symptoms and usually driven down by meds. Again individuals are able to get no symptoms. Sugar crashes, false hypos are the result of rapid blood glucose levels dropping. For many reasons.
It is unusual that T2s go below 3mmols, unless it's meds or has another condition that effects BG levels.
Hypoglycaemia, can occur in non diabetics. And there are a few types of Hypoglycaemic conditions.
And hypoglycaemia can be a precursor to T2 diabetes, as hyperinsulinimia, high circulating insulin levels and insulin resistance can be the cause of not treated by dietary intervention.
Tin hat on!
