im a type 2 , is it dangerous for our bgs to go to low. last night before i went to bed i was 4.5 so i paniced and stole one of my partners chocolates.(boy it was good). when i woke this morning i was 4.7 and the rest of the day i was normal. i was on the understanding that if i went to low the liver would dump glucose to bring my levels up is this correct. although achieving low readings is what im after obviously i dont want to go to low if its dangerous. im just diet and exercise btw

Hi bedshaped2000,

As a Type 2 on diet only, I don't think that you need to be worrying about readings of 4.5 - and on rising results of 4.7. In my opinion that's just about where you should want to be.

You sound to be doing just fine!

Best wishes - John

Hi bedshaped

If my levels have been really low at bed time I may have a cup of warm milk to avoid going too low and it works well for me. You seem to have done the same thing instinctively with the chocolate so all is well. Your levels sound good and low and what I too am trying to achieve. 8)

Hope you enjoyed the choccy! :D

By the way bedshaped2000, I should have added one chocolate ain't going to do you any damage either - just so long as you leave it at one! :D

1 chocolate john or one bar lol. im still on that lindt 90% stuff. i can push it to 4 squares which works out 40g of chocolate = 4.8 carb -2.8 for sugar without much rising on meter(probably because its like 200% fat lol ). have noticed i dont no if anyone else has but if you eat this last thing at night im guaranteed a super low reeding in the morning.
