Hi everyone,
I hope this isn't too random! I am a type 1 diabetic and decided to go on a vegan diet to help me become healthier and lose some weight. I have been vegan for 2 months now.
I *adore* the diet and have never felt better - I can recommend it to anyone out there! My only problem is I find a lot of vegan products, especially dairy alternatives, are very high in sugar. For example, my favourite 0% fat plain greek yogurt is being replaced with Alpro Plain dairy free which is high in sugar - making breakfast less healthy for the diabetes and it's not helping to shift the weight!
I also enjoy deserts but can't find anything vegan that isn't laden with sugar in some form, apart from (some) fruit.
Can anyone recommend anything to help? A recipe you love, a product you've found that solves this problem? Any help and guidance is greatly appreciated. Will happily swap for an amazing avocado pesto recipe if you're interested!!
Many thanks, Natalie
