This is an interesting recent report by SACN (Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition).

"Lower carbohydrate diets for adults with type 2 diabetes Responses to public consultation on draft report"

The draft report on lower carbohydrate diets for adults with type 2 diabetes (T2D) was published for an eight-week consultation period from 5 March to 30 April 2020. Interested parties were invited to submit comments relating to the scientific content of the draft report and to alert the Joint Working Group on Lower Carbohydrates Diets for Adults with Type 2 Diabetes (WG) to any evidence that it may have missed. Twenty-six responses were received from a variety of interested parties.

I like the conclusion, it seems to boil down to:

It might help, it might not, so support the patient with what works best for them. And the the lovely we can't 100% trust the findings.

had a quick look through, it seems to be biased against low carb, Dr Z Harcomb pin pointed the flaws in the draft.
