I went on a vegan juicing holiday and lowered my medication from 25 to15ml and lost some weight.
Before I left 5.3 was my low now 2.9 made me eat half a banana. But now I have no idea what my low is any ideas how to get back on track.

I also have rapid gastric emptying, not taking metformin, am stumped as to why I am not keeping food down.
6 meals a day is not easy to keep up

Hello
I'm a vegan but I don't have six meals a day - is that because your meals are juice?

I had high blood pressure and felt really ill so although I've been vegetarian for many years, I stopped all other animal products and have halved the amount of insulin I use and my BP is loads better. I don't take any other medication but I do have organic beetroot juice, spirulina, chlorella and maca blended as a drink every morning, which makes me feel really well, lowers BP and is I guess, a superfood.

I would be interested to know what food you're eating or what juice you are on - please :-)

Hello fellow vegans,

I am really interested to hear about the experiences of of vegans that are diabetic and especially those that are Type 2. I have juiced in the past (several years ago) but have been reluctant to to try again since being diagnosed as I was worried about the effect on BG levels.

So what do you eat and what do you find works for you and what doesnt ? Have you been vegan a long time or was it a responce to being diabetic ?

For my part:
I am a 54 yr old male. Vegan for 34 years now...got into bad habits with portion size, snacks and poor food choices but have improved this since being diagnosed 6 months ago. My HBa1C at diagnosis was 99 and weighed 92 Kg, last week my HBa1c was 35 and my weight down to 80 Kg. I had been on 3 x 500mg metformin but GP has taken them away now...I think I am pleased.
