hi,

I'm concerned about my fasting bg results.

(been taking metformin 2000mg since 2008)

10.9, 9.7, 10.5, 11.5, 11.2, 8.7, 8.9, 8.5, 11.6, 11.9, 10.9, 11.6, 11.0, 10.9, 10.8, 9.4, 10.1, 8.0 (sitagliptin 50mg started here) 8.9, 9.3, 9.8, 9.8, 8.4, 9.2

Phew.

I'm staying to stick to low carb and I exercise at gym 4-5 times a week.

What do you eat at your evening meal, and how long before bed?

I tend to have low carb meal...eg tonight chicken stir fry, yesterday ham and cheese wrapped in lettuce with mayo and pesto.

I eat around 7pm

I don't have anything in evenings but do drink 2-3 pints of water flavoured with sugar free orange or black current.

It can take weeks, even months before fbg levels come down. It could be that you are catching Dawn Phenomena with these readings.
Just in case you are unaware, take your fasting reading as soon as you wake before rushing about getting breakfast etc as activity will raise the levels. To stem the rise after testing you may find having something like a creamed coffee or some cheese or nuts helps.
