Just now having my first proper hypo, BG at 3.3, shakey, shallow breath and feeling out of breath, sweaty.

Just ate 3 chocolate digestives and a cup of tea, gonna test again at 11pm

It's proper scarey, I'm still shaking, my skin is crawling and I'm feeling sick now. Mouth is numb.

I guessed dinner at 60 carbs, guess I was way off!!!

I had one the other day my reading was 3.6 and I was the same so I had a couple of them little lucozade sweets and a glass of lucozade and I was fine like an hour after.

I'm almost good now, shaking has subsided and sweats have stopped.

That was truly ******* horrible, NOT fun

I know! I've only been diagnosed with diabetes for about 2 or 3 weeks and I've had two hypos already....

Not good

The first one is always the worst. I had a 2.8 while at work once and had no idea i was even low.. I was standing around chatting with a friend and took a brief aside to test, and was shocked to see 2.8mmol/L.. I told her i would be back in a sec and remember her later saying i was acting and looked completely normal.. lol

So, now its not uncommon for me to dip down to the 3s and i rarely get anything beyond a 'hungry' feeling..

Point is - Now you know the warning signs, and that you will survive without eating a entire cake lol

I was diagnosed in October and the lowest ive been is 3.9, this was my first ever proper hypo.

Honestly one of the scariest feelings I've ever had (and I've done some crazy ****)

I've been diagnosed with it for 7years and my lowest is 2.4! Now you've had one you'll recognise the signs x

I think a really funny thing is instead of concentrating on fixing the hypo I'm on here typing about it while wedging digestives in my mouth with my free hand lol

I'm T2 and have it happen to me three or four times a year.
4.5 fine 4.0 I start getting dopey 3.5 I need jelly babies.
Not a large shift in numbers on a meter but it shows it must be bad in the other direction.
I'm fine between 4.5 and 7. but get to 7.5 and I know something is not right before I take the reading and find that number and before I found this place was often in double figures.
I've recently had my anual check and been told there is a diabetic change to my eyes but nothing to do or worry about yet.
But the damage is there.
The damage happens every time we go high .... not next week or next time or maybe but every time and that's worth remembering.
Some of the behaviour and related readings I see on this forum are disturbing.
A lot of people here will see the damage further down the line that they did yesterday and today and sadly tomorrow.

Oh feel for you. Just a bit of advice - the choccy digestives isn't the most ideal hypo treatment as the fat slows down the release of sugar. Obviously better than nothing!! Hope you're feeling better now. I had a 2.9 last Friday and it was similar to yours and made me feel really flaked out for the next 3-4 hours.

Jelly babies do the trick for me but if I aint careful the whole bag could get munched and has in the past while my knowledge about myself and this ilness was a lot less than it is now.
I have never had a sweet tooth but jelly babies ..... :joyful::p:woot::p:cool:

Yep, been caught on the mid twos & the odd late 1... I'm comfortable with the experience as long as I am treating it.
That initial feeling of walking into a room & forgetting why on the down slide around 4 or 3.6..

I can normally keep going when back up with no issue. Unless it's a "nightpo" which can screw my morning...

Hope you feel more together now...?!

I'm fine really just still feeling weird, it's probably just the shock of it, felt horrible not being in control.

I tested again and I'm at 7.2 now

I keep getting up and having a walk around
